Service & reparation Request a quoteThe Low Energy Germanium (LEGe) detector is a high-resolution germanium (HPGe) detector design optimized for detecting gamma rays at low energies, typically below 100 keV. These detectors have a thin entrance window (usually of material such as beryllium) that minimizes energy absorption and thus allows the detection of very low energy photons. This makes them ideal for measuring low-energy photons from radioactive substances or X-rays, where traditional HPGe detectors may not be as sensitive. The rear contact is smaller than the crystal, which gives a lower detector capacitance compared to a larger contact, which in turn gives lower noise and thus better energy resolution at low and medium energies than any other detector geometry.
- Thin front and side contacts, allow spectroscopy from 3 keV
- Low noise and thus high energy resolution at low and medium energies
- Equipped with intelligent preamplifier with USB 2.0 for SoH
