Radiopharmaceuticals
Radiopharmaceuticals are an exciting industry undergoing growth. The principle is that a radioactive isotope is combined with a biologically active molecule. These unique properties play an important role in nuclear medicine and enable non-invasive diagnostic imaging through techniques such as PET and SPECT. In addition, radiopharmaceuticals are used in targeted therapeutic applications, which deliver radiation with precision to treat certain cancers. This exciting connection between medicine and nuclear applications offers many promising future methods for diagnosis and treatment.
