MBD-2 (Military Battlefield Dosimeter) dosimeter is a real-time, self-indicating device. It measures and records dose for gamma and neutron. It’s based upon the patented Direct Ion Storage (DIS) technology.

It could be said to be a hybrid between EPD and passive dose meters. The detectors measure continuously with r without battery. The internal electronics provide memory, data logging, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Near Field Communication (NFC) and on-board diagnostic testing. All data are being stored in the non-volatile memory, so no risk of loosing data if battery is worn out or battery failiure. The diagnostics include battery caacity and other fault conditions. The user will know when their device is working and when it requires attention.
