We offer a wide range of hydraulic presses and other accessories for the preparation of solid samples for, for example, transmission analysis. Below is a selection of the products we have available.

Specac Manual Hydraulic Press

The award-winning hydraulic press from Specac has been a mainstay in many analytical laboratories for decades. Thanks to its robust, durable design and maintenance-free operation, it is a valued and highly useful tool in sample preparation. In just a few minutes, it creates KBr pellets quickly and easily using pellet dies and high pressure – either 15 tons or 25 tons, depending on the model. It is also easy to upgrade the press with heated plates for the preparation of thin polymer films, for example.

Mini Pellet Press

The Specac Mini Pellet Press is a handheld hydraulic laboratory press for the preparation of pellets. Using up to 2 tons of pressure, it creates high-quality, 7 mm KBr pellets for transmission analysis. The compact and robust design makes this press highly versatile, as it can be easily carried into the field if needed.

Pellet Dies

We offer a range of dies for the preparation of pressed pellets, which provide precise and reproducible results every time. With diameters available from 5 mm up to 40 mm, made from high-quality hardened 440C stainless steel, there is always a die for every job. The punches are emptied and cleaned quickly and easily , which also contributes to efficient workflows in the lab.

Constant Thickness Film Maker and High Temperature Constant Thickness Film Maker

These tools are unbeatable when the analysis requires a thin and even film, such as transmission analysis of polymers. They quickly and easily create films with a thickness from 500 µm down to 15 µm using both a 15 ton high pressure and temperatures of either 300oC or 400oC. The reproducible films are excellent for both qualitative and quantitative analysis, making these tools suitable for a wide variety of applications.

Our team of sales and application specialists are ready to answer any questions you may have, so please don’t hesitate to contact us so we can find the best solution for your lab.
