AEGIS – Portable HPGe-Based Radionuclide Identifier

Aegis is a portable and battery-powered gamma spectrometer with HPGe detector. Integrated all-in-one design and laboratory-grade energy resolution. Equipped with a long cooling finger to accommodate shielding from background radiation. Aegis can be used both in the field and in the laboratory.

Thanks to its LN2-free cooling and thermal-cycle-free cryostat, the system offers stable and reliable performance without the need for maintenance or regular service. The IP65-rated design makes the instrument dust and water resistant, and it can be used in ambient temperatures from -20 °C to +50 °C once cooled.

For maximum accuracy and flexibility, Aegis is available with 40% or 50% HPGe crystals, and as an option, the system can be equipped with a Remote Detector Chamber (RDC) that allows for effective detector backshielding. It can be controlled both wirelessly and wired, and the internal hot-swappable batteries provide uninterrupted operation during extended use. The Genie software allows the system to be easily integrated into existing workflows, while the web-based user interface provides full visibility into system status and detailed hardware monitoring.
