The multichannel analyzer (MCA) is an important component of a gamma spectroscopy system. It must have the properties required to generate an optimal spectrum, which in turn provides the best possible tool for a correct analysis of an arbitrary gamma spectrum. Today, the signal processing in an MCA is based on digital filtering and signal processing, which makes installation and optimization easy.
