THYMON is a portable and robust instrument developed for rapid and reliable screening of radioactive iodine (I-131) in the thyroid gland in radiological or nuclear emergencies. A field-ready instrument with low weight and high protection class that can be used under demanding environmental conditions, while an intuitive user interface enables efficient handling even under time pressure. The instrument combines efficient measurement and high measurement accuracy to quickly examine large groups of people. It has automated functions, such as activity calculation, age-adjusted calibration curves and temperature compensation, to ensure reliable and consistent results. An optimized design minimizes measurement uncertainties and makes THYMON a completely redesigned solution for emergency screening efforts.
