Service & reparation Request a quoteAlpha sources type A-2 with a 9.5 mm active diameter. The active foils are sealed in the capsule with a vacuum compatible epoxy resin. The beam source is suitable for high vacuum and low temperature applications. The foil construction is extremely resistant to leakage from punctures. The self-absorption of the gold matrix and window reduces the alpha-max energy to about 4.7 MeV for Am-241 and about 4.2 MeV for Po-210.
The usual active area is about 1 cm², corresponding to 9.5 mm window diameter. The activity tolerance is ±30%. Traceability NIST of Am-241 up to 3.7 MBq, no traceability NIST on Po-210.
