At Gammadata, we are proud to have successfully completed the installation and IQ/OQ of another TLC scanner at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. This installation is an important step in enhancing the hospital’s capacity for advanced analysis and research.
The miniGITA is a radio-TLC (thin layer chromatography) device used for the quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals. This innovative unit checks the radiochemical purity of drugs, ensuring that no unwanted impurities are present and that the radioactive isotope is effectively bound to the carrier molecule.
With miniGITA, the pharmaceutical is applied to a strip that is then scanned. The result is a detailed chromatogram with spectrometry, clearly showing where the isotopes are located and which isotopes are present in the sample. This enables laboratories and clinics to carefully monitor and verify the quality of their radiopharmaceuticals.
