The CAEN 2740 digitizer family is a 64‑channel, 16‑bit, 125 MS/s digital signal processor for radiation detectors, available in VME64, VME64X and desktop versions.

It supports both waveform digitization and recording as well as multi‑channel analysis (MCA) for nuclear spectroscopy with, for example, silicon strip detectors, segmented HPGe detectors, scintillators and wire chambers. Each channel can be processed independently using PHA, CFD, QDC and PSD methods, and the open FPGA architecture together with the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC processor offers extensive possibilities for customizing pulse processing algorithms and analysis software.

High‑speed USB 3.0 and 1/10 GbE interfaces, easy multi‑board synchronization and ready‑to‑use software (CoMPASS, WaveDump2, Sci‑Compiler) make the 2740 series a flexible and scalable solution for multi‑channel spectroscopy and waveform measurements.
