Radiac portals
Radioactive portals are used to ensure that vehicles, packages or personnel entering a facility do not bring radioactive material with them. A radial portal can be intended for vehicles but also for pedestrians. The measurement can be carried out with different detector techniques. The most common technique is with large spot detectors. These measure changes in pulse rate, which form the decision basis. To reduce the false frequency, it is also possible to measure the phase sequence. Alternatively, there are spectroscopic portals where it is also possible to identify the contamination in real time.
