Copper Liner to Capintec dose calibrator

This liner eliminates variations in readings when measuring I-123, In-111 or other radionuclides that decay by electron capture emitting characteristic xray. This can be a major contributor to the final activity measurement in the dose calibrator. The influence of the x-rays on the measurement is very dependent on the source’s physical form (capsule versus liquid) and the container (glass versus plastic) because the absorption of low energy photons varies markedly with materials (atomic number and density) and thickness. The higher energy gamma photons are much less affected.
