The Thermo Scientific Nicolet iS50 FTIR spectrometer offers maximum flexibility for laboratories. You can easily upgrade the device from a simple FTIR bench to a fully automated multispectral system, allowing you to collect spectral data from far-IR to visible light. Installation of modern ATR, Raman, and NIR modules is a push of a button, eliminating the need to manually change system components.

Spectrometer Features

The Nicolet iS50 FTIR spectrometer is equipped with several advanced features that ensure both high performance and ease of use. First, the spectrometer offers dual light source compatibility, meaning you can use both the long-life Polaris™ IR source and tungsten halogen white light source. This gives you versatility in your light source options. Three detectors within the analysis space enable high-resolution analysis, improving the precision of your measurements. Validation wheels and gold optics are included as standard, although you have the option to choose aluminum if it suits your needs better.

The spectrometer works seamlessly with your existing accessories, including those from discontinued models, so you can continue to use your previous investments without any problems. In addition, high-resolution motorized energy screens are standard, and you can choose purge shutters, motorized filters, and a motorized polarizer, further increasing the spectrometer’s adaptability. You also have the option of choosing between a collimated or focused emission port to customize how spectral data is collected and analyzed.

Extended accessories and modules

In addition, the Nicolet iS50 FTIR spectrometer is compatible with a range of accessories, notably the Smart accessories, and offers several optional modules. The built-in mid- and far-IR diamond ATR gives you additional capabilities for advanced spectral analysis. The automatic beamsplitter (ABX) simplifies the process of separating light beams for analysis. Raman accessories can be easily mounted in the analysis space, making Raman analysis both flexible and integrated into your workflow. The NIR module with Integrating Sphere and fiber optic connections enables in-depth analysis of near-infrared light with high precision. Finally, the TGA-IR accessory and the GC-IR module offer additional analysis capabilities for thermogravimetric and gas chromatographic infrared spectroscopy.
