The ISOCS (In Situ Object Counting System) calibration software can be used in gamma spectrometry to eliminate the need for calibration beam sources for efficiency calibration. By combining a characterization of the detector, developed using MCNP modeling, mathematical geometry templates and some physical parameters, ISOCS gives you the ability to perform qualitative and quantitative gamma spectroscopic analyses of almost any sample and geometry.

The secret to this capability lies in two different parts;
1. The detector energy/efficiency/spatial response is characterized by Mirion using MCNP Monte Carlo code.
2. Mathematical geometry templates which are available for most sample geometries – flat surfaces, rectangular boxes, barrels, tubes, beakers, etc.

Features;

  • No radioactive sources needed
  • Calibrations valid from 10 to 7000 keV
  • 3D visualization speeds geometry creation and error identification
  • Uncertainty Estimator and Assay Planning tool
  • Advanced Collimator designs
  • Calibrations valid from detector face out to 500 meters
  • Operates with Germanium, NaI and LaBr3 detectors by Mirion
  • Includes 21 geometry templates
  • Calibrations accurate at any angle from detector
  • Ideal for In Situ applications
  • Library of common absorber and tools to create new material
  • Custom templates
  • Multi-Efficiency program
  • Geometry Composer Report
